Marc Rheinard is European Champion!

Rheinard wins leg 2 to wrap up title
Marc Rheinard took a second convincing win in Leg 2 of the A finals here in Austria to secure the European title. This is his second summer Touring Car title, to go along with his one indoor title, two 1/12th championships, and one 4WD offroad title, of course alongside his three World Championship titles.

In leg 2 he again was challenged by Prumper and Volker for the first few laps, with Hagberg also hanging on to the leading pack. But, as before, Marc got into his groove and pulled away.
The battle for second place intensified as Yannic appeared to have a problem with his car, occasionally the car snapping loose in the middle of the corner. After the race he put this down to a dodgy tire on one corner of the car. At around three quarter distance, his car slid going through the fast infield sweeper, opening the door just enough to allow defendig champion Ronald Volker to make a fantastic pass on the infield.
Alexander Hagberg held fourth after not being able to pass either of the two second place contendors. Fifth in the leg was Viktor Wilck, followed by Jilles Groskamp, Andy Moore, Steen Graversen, Chrissi Krapp and Marc Fischer.

With the title now wrapped up, Rheinard will sit out the final leg to allow Yannic and Ronald to battle for the second place.
