Qualifying Round 2

Volker fastest
Defending Champ Ronald Volker has moved back in front in Round 2 of Qualifying. Again, a number of the top drivers made mistakes and finished further down the order than expected, but Ronald (car pictured) drove a clean, fast run to take the vital TQ points.

Behind him, it was a German lockout of the top three places with Marc Fisher (Serpent / GM) and Christopher Krapp (Kyosho / Orion) proving Round 1 was no fluke to take second and third respectively.
Behind them was Viktor Wilck. Viktor lead the top heat, trading fastest times with Volker, until a few mistakes saw him kit some kerbs and spin the car, dropping him back.

Round 1 pace setter Alexander Hagberg rounded out the top 5 in round two, and has a useful haul of points heading into tomorrow.
So the overall standings (counting both rounds) is now:
1 Ronald Volker - Germany - Yokomo/LRP
2 Alex Hagberg - Sweden - Xray/LRP
3 Chris Krapp - Germany - Kyosho/Orion
4 Marc Fischer - Germany - Serpent/GM
5 Viktor Wilck - Sweden - Tamiya/Thunder Power

But with only 2 rounds to count from the 5 total qualifying rounds, drivers can effectively write off the whole first day - something World Champion Marc Rheinard will be hoping to do (along with many others!) after 2 DNF's today!
