Kay Koops sweeps to victory at the Large Scale Off Road Euros |

 What seemed like an easy victory for Kay Koops became a struggle to the line in the 30 minute Main Final here in Velika Gorica! Starting from Pole Kay easily pulled away from the field, behind him pre event favourite Dario Veseli couldn't repeat his performances of qualifying and despite moving into second off the line was soon dropping down the field before retiring with 4 minutes to go. The battle behind Kay was hotting up Tim Vanderelst and Ken Walkiers battling over second and third through the mid part of the race |
 Moving into the last five minutes and suddenly Kays easy lead began to disappear - as had the tread on this tyres (see picture left!!) - A couple of mistakes and suddenly Tim was on him and oh so briefly into the lead - but a misunderstanding with a backmarker let Kay back ahead, where he refocussed and passed the line first to claim the European title. |
