Young gun Ales Bayer dominates as Mighty Markus struggles
Not only has Ales Bayer broken the circuit record with a lap in 00:19.833, he also continues to look like the man to beat. Putting firmly behind him the heatbreak of last years euros held at his own track in Slavkov - (a final he looked at one stage to win before retiring with tyre problems)
Right behind him - at this stage, and also looking incredibly fast is Frenchman Alain Bernard - Analdi (pictured) He will also be looking to improve on his 2nd place finish of last year. Today, the final day of qualifying was in many drivers minds set to be the day get those all important times. Croatian Dario Vesali put his hopes on the weather today and it may well pay off he is currently 3rd fastest.
However current champion for the last 4 years and the man widely regarded as the master, Markus Feldmann played it safe in round 3 promising to come out fighting today but sadly a glowplug problem saw him stall in the warm up of round 4 and not record a single lap.
