Rain Again in Austria!

Officials announce end of Qualifying
Just as qualifying was getting back underway, the rain returned the the RMC Wien circuit sending everyone running for cover. With the rain looking set to continue for at least a short while, the organisers called a Team Managers meeting where it was decided to abandon the rest of qualifying and just attempt to find a break in the weather to run the complete set of finals.
In accordance with the EFRA Rule Book, this means since the third round could not be completed, none of those times or scores will count.

Of the two completed rounds, each drivers single best points score will be used to set the finals. This confirms Lee Martin takes his second Euros pole position in a week following his two TQ runs yesterday.
Behind Lee, Jorn Neumann will start second on the grid, thanks to his second place in Round 1 of qualifying, just in front of fellow German and defending champion Marc Rheinard, who was second in Round 2.

Local Austrian Hupo Honigl will be disapointed to be starting fourth, after mistakes in both his qualifying runs. Brit Paul Bradby lines up fifth thanks to his good time in Round 1, followed by fellow countryman Neil Cragg.
Swedish driver Victor Wilck will be seventh on the grid after a good run in Round 2, whilst another British driver, Simon Moss, will start eigth again relying on his Round 2 result.

Home favourite Peter Pinisch had a disapointing set of qualifying races and will line up ninth, with another Austrian, Martin Kreil completing the A Final line up.

We hope the weather clears enough to allow the host club to prepare the track and allow us to have time to complete the three legs of the A Final.

Of course, if it stays damp and the track un-racable and unsafe for marshalls, the officials have the option of declaring the results based on the qualifying order.
