Tuesday Wrap-Up

Day draws to a close with no on-track action
Despite the best efforts of all the organising staff, the weather didn't want to play along and a few more showers throughout the afternoon meant it was looking increasingly likely we wouldn't see any racing take place on the track today.

As well as considering how damaging the track conditions could be to the cars, the organisers were obviously more concerned with the safety of marshalls on the circuit. With the dirt sections remaining as slippery mud patches and Vienna running out of daylight hours, the organising team made the decision to keep the track closed today.
The EFRA team, headed by Paul Worsley (1:10 Buggy Vice Chairman), the local organisers under Race Director Paul Srna and timekeeper Rob Nelson have worked out an alternative timetable, to cram in as much racing as possible into the one remaining day of 2WD action whilst still sticking to the rulebook. Wednesday will now consist of:

1 round of Controlled Practise, used to set the start order for Qualifying heats
3 rounds of Qualifying, of which each drivers best two points scores will count
3 leg A Finals and single leg lower finals

This means the first heat will be on track at 8am local time, with Qualifying expected to finish around mid afternoon. The A Finals will then take place spread amongst the lower finals, with racing finally due to draw to a close at approximately 7pm.

So expect a busy, hectic and action packed day of racing, culminating in the crowning of the 2WD European Champion in the evening.

Check back to www.efra.ws tomorrow for all the news, as well as interviews, reports and video action of all the A Finals.
