A Final - Leg 2

Volker is 2010 European Champion!
Once again there was a clean start for the front of the field, with the cars setting off in pretty much grid order.

It looked as though Elliott Harper would be able to challenge Ronald Volker early in the race as he stayed only a few car lengths behind, but after a few laps Ronald started to pull out a lead and then Elliott had to switch his focus to defending the position from a hard charging Victor Wilck.
Their battle lasted for the remainder of the 5 minute race, Victor desperately looking for a way past Elliott but the British teenager remained composed and kept his driving tidy and didn't leave any gap large enough for his Speed Passion team mate to get through.

Behind them, we had another fantastic battle between Andy Moore and Marc Rheinard. Again the two cars raced nose to tail for virtually the entire race distance. Andy's car seemed to lose traction drastically in the closing stages of the race but the 2006 World and European Champion just managed to hold off his German challenger.
An accident on the final lap settled the position in Andy's favour, with Jilles Groskamp getting through the confusion to pick up a place from Marc as well.

But the drama didn't end there. Firstly, Marc Rheinard was disqualified in post race scrutineering for having set his bodyshell too low.

Secondly, the main timing system showed Wilck being classified ahead of Harper. The spectators and drivers all believed Elliott was in front of his Swedish teammate throughout, so the officials consulted the back up timing in conjunction with RC Racing TV's videos to officially classify Elliott second and Victor third.
But there was no confusion about the winner. Ronald Volker drove perfectly to take the win and with it the 2010 EFRA European Touring Car Championship
