Qualifying done, the heats are on!

A look at the penultimate day of the 1/8th buggy championships
As the qualifying rounds here in Guarda, Portugal come to an end, Yannick Aigion continues to dominate and in his cool, jovial style he shows no signs of letting up. He finished top of the 5th and final round, one place ahead of current champion Renaud Savoya.
Savoya meanwhile struggling at times during the event, still not confident of his tyres - A definite decision on tyres, compounds and set ups still alludes most of the drivers, with even the TQ man planning to test his tyre options in his practice session tomorrow. Yannick and Renaud both european champions, alternated in topping group 2 throughout the rounds making the fifth round particularly interesting but Yannick would eventually secure the 5th leaving the RB powered Renaud in 4th place overall.
Overall third place man Miguel Mathias also running an RB engine, will be happy to have pressured the Aigion Stronghold battling hard and taking two wins in qualifying with youngster David Ronnefalk taking two of the other wins, Ultimately, Miguel remains in the same spot as he was yesterday, in fact the top three as a whole remain the same.
In the junior championship, there is plenty of talk about young Swede David Ronnefalk, the 14 year old established himself in last years Euros in Austria and is back with another years experience under his belt, finishing second in two of his qualifying rounds ahead of an extremely experienced field.
But with this being the 30th IC Buggy Euros and the 3rd time it's been held in Portugal, Miguel must want to clinch this title more than ever.. Back at the top Yannick tells us not to write off Renaud or the likes of Robert Battlle by any means, for tomorrow is finals day and the race is by no means over!
