Semi Final Results

Last chance to make the European Final...........
The B Semi Final took to the track just before 14:20 local time. Italian Walter Salemi started second but led early on in the race. However, by half distance pole sitter Alberto Picco (Italy) was out in front with a healthy lead.

The real battle was behind him as the next three cars circulated closely through the entire second half of the 20 minute race. Italian Michele Romagnoli was the strongest runner of these and so finished second.

Belgian Ilia Van Gastel was still using the experience he had built up today running in the lower finals and finished third, only 3 seconds behind Romagnoli. Half a second behind him was Swiss driver Simon Kurzbuch.
So Picco and Romagnoli advance to the main Final, whilst Van Gastel and Kurzbuch have to wait to see if their final times are beaten by drivers in the A Semi.

The A Semi Final saw pleanty of action as the drivers settled into their 20 minute race to make the main Final. Daniele Ielasi (ITA) led from the pole but retired from the race around the half way point.

This let fellow countryman Andrea Cristiani assume the lead, which he held until the end except for a few laps during fuel pit stop sequences. The race behind between German drivers Oliver Mack and Michael Salven continued through the second half. Both drivers took turns at leading during the rounds of pit stops, but as the final buzzer sounded it was Mack who took the certain transfer spot with Serpent boss Salven missing out by only 1 second.
The sole British representation at the event, Mark Green finished fourth, and like team mate Salven would have to wait and see if he had set a quick enough time.
