Monaco - The Circuit

Whilst we wait for the first of the finals to begin, here's a quick look at the fantastic circuit hosting this year's EC-B

The circuit hosting the 1/8th Circuit B European Championship is fairly compact, but still features a large variety of corners from tight hairpin bends in the infield to the fast sweeping turn leading onto the front straight.

The track is located in the hills overlooking the Cote d'Azure, just a few miles from Monte Carlo and the famous Formula 1 circuit. If you can keep your eyes off the on track action, wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea are available from the track perimeter.

The infield is clearly marked in bright blue, and the kerbs are nicely finished in the classic red and white colours. Some of the kerbs need to be touched to help keep speed up and lap times down, whilst others are slightly higher and can easily upset a car if it tries to take the corner too tightly.
And of course, the pit lane. This could prove crucial in the longer finals tomorrow as drivers try to save as much time as possible whilst stopping for refuelling. The pit lane itself is fairly narrow and includes a tight chicane at the entrance to really help slow the cars down.

Will it be pitstops which help decide the 2010 1/8th Circuit European 'B' Champion?

Stay tuned to www.efra.ws as we bring you the results of the finals throughout this afternoon and Sunday, culminating in the crowning of this year's champion.
