EFRA Large Scale Off Road Championships - Qualifying Report

Changeable weather was the order of the day throughout Qualifying for the 3 European championships up for grabs here at the Nene Valley Raceway in the UK. With rain showers coming and going on the Astroturf surface the constantly changing levels of grip challenged all the drivers.
With a new rule forcing drivers to enter just one class, al 3 are now hotly contested championship in it's own right.
4WD
Seen as the premier class the 4WD qualifying was a fantastically open event. After 3 rounds 3 different drivers' Ivonen, Vaseli and Peuziat were tied with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd apiece. In the pivitol 4th round it was 14 year old Finnish sensation Pekko Iivonen who took the heat and with it the TQ for the championship.
The Top Qualifiers are-
2WD
Ken Walckiers was unstoppable in 2WD Qualifying taking the first 3 rounds in fine style. Choosing to do some testing in the final round the round TQ went to Mike Plekkopoel who also claimed 2nd overall.

Short Course
After running as an invitation class last year for 2017 Large Scale 4WD Short Course is an official European Championship and it was local driver Mathew Perry who dominated from fellow Brit Tommy Chung.
