Large Scale Off Road Euros - Qualifying Report

LSOR Qualifying Report

After 4 rounds of Qualifying over 2 days the grids for the semi-finals have been set in France.
The main story of the event has been the massive wear on the track surface as 145 Large Scale Buggies have done their damage over 5 days of running to leave the surface resembling a lunar landscape.

2WD Qualifying

Rick Hofman produced a perfect performance with his Elcon to take TQ in all 4 rounds despite the ever changing track conditions.
Behind him a gaggle of drivers scrapped for the runner up position, including eventual 4th place qualifier Callan Gunn who deserves a mention mainl because he is Australian (little bit of Eurovision here in EFRA!)

4WD Qualifying .

Qualifying for the faster 4WD class was much more open. After Valentin Peuziat had blitzed the opposition in round 1 – running over a second a lap faster than anyone with his MCD chassis, things got much closer as the track deteriorated and survival became as important as speed.

Round 2 was won by the Netherlands Nick Visser with the new Ultron car, but he failed to back that up with any other good rounds and wound up 31st overall!Tim Van Der Elst took his Ultron to a win in round 3 to temporarily lead the rankings but Valentin struck back in Round four to take overall pole.
