EFRA 1/12 Track Championship 2016 - Finals Report

After a intense day of race action at the Hudy arena in Slovakia, the first EFRA European Champions of 2016 have been crowned in the stock (13.5T Blinky) and Modified 1/12th Track meeting
Alexander Hagberg put on another master class of 1/12th scale driving as he claimed his 3rd consecutive European Championship in Slovakia this afternoon.
Hagberg dominance was such that he only needed 2 legs to claim the title and was never headed in either race, no mean feat considering the unforgiving nature of the universally popular but incredibly demanding Hudy Arena track.
Behind Alex, his Xray team mate Olly Jefferies took the 3rd leg to hold off CRC’s Markus Mobers for 2nd place overall.

The Stock championship was also decided in 2 legs but these were incredibly tight and exciting duels between Hupo Honigl and Markus Mobers.
Mobers led both races from pole but had Hupo in his wheel tracks at all times.
Hupo was rarely more than half a second behind the German and in both legs he snuck through in the last 30 seconds to take victory and his 8th European championship in all classes.
Mobers won Leg 3 to take 2nd overall whilst Alexander Laurent of France rounded out the podium despite a strong challenge form Ollie Payne of the UK who ended up 4th overall but with the consolation of the European junior title.
