Saturday report Euro B 1/8 Silla - End of qualifying. |
 On the Video: Resume of the day Saturday morning has started with the Sort Out Problems round, which nearly is a shake down of track and participants into their new groups, new rostrum positions and new marshaling places. By 10:00 we have started with Q1 with its 10 Qualifying groups, until groups 9 & 10 hit the track the leader has been the young Asso-Alpha British driver Lewis Jones with 5:21, but Group 9 has portrayed the superb performance of Oscar Navarro with an excellent time of 8 laps on 5:13 way apart from the other driver able to break the 5:20 barrier, Alejandro Daras with his HBracing car. |
 We were all expectant to see what group 10 has to bring us, and there we have seen an amazing driving by Daniel Bernabe on a 5:12 followed by Manu Iniesta and JoseMi Sanchez with 5:18 and 5:19, only 5 drivers have been able to go under 5:20 for their 8 laps at this difficult track at the first Qualification try.Immediately we have followed up with Qualifying round 2 and again the expectation has been on the last groups were the most interesting candidates had been placed after reseeding. Now it had been only 4 drivers able to go under the 5:20 mark for 8 laps (which means an average under 40 seconds per lap) |
 The winner of group 9 has been the young Swedish driver Elias Johansson with 5:17 followed by Oscar Navarro on 5:18 and Alejandro Perez Bernal with his Kyosho also on 5:18, but the winner, again, has been the Agama, less drama, of Daniel Bernabe, improving his time for Q1 to 5:12:01, 3 tenths on a second faster than before, now he still needs another good one due to his severe mistake of yesterday.After lunch time, by 15:00, the third qualification round has started, always in the same order, from 1 to 10 with the top-guns in the last ones. At group 8 James Harrold from UK enters into the exclusive group of the 5:20 mark breakers with 5:19:443. At next group only 2 drivers have been able to improve the Britton result, Jordan Lot from France and JuanMa Guillen from Spain both in 5:17. Finally at group 10 we get 5 more for a total of 8 drivers going under 5:20 the Italian Giovani Camamo and the french driver Malcom Roquet with 5:19 improved by Manu Iniesta with 5:18 and Felix Koegler from France on 5:17 and then making his third pole domination in a row Dani Bernabe with a 5:14:217 securing for him the TQ position of the event despite the penalty received. by infoRC.net |
 Last round will not mean a discussion of the TQ position but a one of the rest of the semifinals places and, might be a try of Bernabe to achieve 4 out of 4. Before group 9 fastest man was young Lewis Jones, but yet slightly over 5:20, then at Group 9 5 people had been able to make it with the usual names of Johansson, JuanMa Guillen, Jordan Lot and an impressive Martin Roca being the best of the 5:18 bunch, but over all of them with an astonishing 5:12:975 Oscar Navarro has shown what he is able to do with his Mugen.
Last group brings up into the club the French driver Kevin Michaudet and an usual suspect Manu Iniesta, but all the eyes were concentrated on Daniel Bernabe, unexpected back straight problems for him on some landings costed him 3 times some tenths of a second and by that losing one complete second in respect to Oscar Navarro so he ends with 5:13:998 not making a perfect score, 4 out of 4 by just 1,024 seconds. | First day is over, but the race is not yet -on-. |
 Friday is the training day of the XVI EC B at Valencia, the capital of the 'Levante Español', 118 entries with finally 114 drivers present coming from 12 different countries. The morning has started with a good Team Managers meeting, short and all clear and then the usual rounds of 10 practice groups, each car has hit the track 4 times before lunch time, so a lot of training and different fine tuning on the set up of the cars, good ambience, café, some soft drinks and the morning keep on going not too much stressed and with intensive work for mechanics. |
 After lunch time , Spanish one, so that by 14:30 we have started with Reseeding rounds, looking for best 3 consecutive laps inside complete whole 9 minutes track time. The real surprise of the round came by a mistake done at group 1, so marshalling by group 10, the possible top-guns , were the winner of the warm-up race Dani Bernabé missed his marshal duties and so that has got the most severe punishment possible: he has lost his best result at Qualifying.Despite this group 1, the 9 and 10 had been the most interesting ones with group 10 dominated by the Mugen of Oscar Navarro with 3 laps on 1:57 with 3 runners up on 1:58, Bernabé and his Agama, Manu Iniesta with Mugen and the raising Kyosho Teenager Alejandro Perez Bernal from Alhaurin escorted by his Club fellow Zaca Villalba and the young French driver Jordan Lot, those 6 have been the only ones at the first reseeding round to make 3 consecutive laps under the 2:00 minutes mark. |
 Finally, 9 drivers were able to cross under the barrier of the two minutes in the first round of reseeding, the six that we did mentioned before almost live and three more, the Frenchman Felix Koegler, Ruben Olivares and the young Daniel Pariente.The second and final attempt brings us a more implacable sun and even more demanding conditions. Here the first driver able to go lower of the two minutes wall will be the young Jose Miguel Sanchez, surpassed almost immediately by the driver of group 8 Malcolm Roquet, then in the group 9 both Kevin Michaudet and Pablo Ortuño have gotten themselves into the exclusive club of the two minutes , club in which they have repeated presence Jordan Lot and Zacarias Villalba. It only rest to start the group 10 and everything is yet to be decided, who will take this honorific pole position of the day? |
 The times begin to fall below the two minutes mark and at the end there will be not just 5 pilots but 8! Those who manage to get under that mark had been those 5 who did it in the first round and three more, the young Swede Elias Johansson, the Frenchman Guillaume Quaresma and Juanma Guillen for a total 14 pilots in that exclusive club. The pole position is discussed by Bernabé and Oscar Navarro in 1:57 along with Johansson and Iniesta, but that only until Dani Bernabe squeezes his Agama and puts there more than a complete second, carrying down his stopwatch to a stratospheric 1: 55: 918 that consecrate him as the best time of the day.After a brief meeting of Team Managers, the opening ceremony of the Championship took place with the parade and presentation of all participating teams, and then we still have to write and to post this news.., enjoy and see you tomorrow at the track.
