Allocation period for the European Championships to be extended

Dear Friends,

First of all, we all are very confident to resume our European races in 2022.

But we need to be aware that we still might have to deal with restrictions in some countries, preventing the race from happening.

As a safety measure, we will continue to use a timetable, to give us the best possible insight of the situation as close as possible to the race dates.

As agreed at the 2021 AGM, EFRA will be very open again with the 2022 allocations.

Extending the allocation period:

Our initial allocation cut-off date of 21st of January is still important for EFRA, to determine the distribution of places for the oversubscribed races.

But the absolute deadline will be stretched out to the maximum, for each individual race.

In the attached document we have made a schedule, keeping in mind that people need to plan their travelling.

The first column: The date to make a decision to go ahead / cancel / postpone a race.

8 weeks before the race starts, a board decision will be made according to the current situation in the host and other countries, to avoid quarantine or other unpleasant situations.

The second column: 6 weeks before the start date of the race, allocations will be closed, and an invoice will be send out to the Federations.

Later entries might still be possible, if races are not fully booked, but this needs to be done after contacting the section chairman.

The third column: Payments toward the organiser will be done 4 weeks before the start of the event.

The EFRA GP’s are not allocated, but will be evaluated the same way.
